What We Do

The Red Basket Program, a 501(c)(3) public charity, supplies individually wrapped breakfast snacks to Carrollton-Farmers Branch high school classroom teachers and counselors for the hungry students that cross their paths during the day. The program is funded 100% by community donations. 

We work with businesses and community groups to collect donations (snacks & monetary) and provide snacks to the teachers and staff on an as needed basis.

Who We Are

Two Moms making it happen. When you get word there are hungry students in your kid's school, you work to fix it. That is what Karen Lanman and Amy Couvillon are doing.


Karen and Amy are long time Carrollton residents where all 6 of their children attended school in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. They became friends while volunteering together at the elementary school and through the years that followed, these Moms have seen their share of what it takes to get something done!


Feed hungry students? Karen and Amy had no experience in anything like this, but knew they needed to take it on and so, The Red Basket Program began.
